match today || Sheffield United v West Ham United

Mark Noble and Aaron Cresswell return to the West Ham squad for the trip to Bramall Lane.

There are currently eleven British managers in charge of Premier League clubs – up five from the start of last season and the highest number since 2014/15 – marking a dramatic change in the coaching landscape in England’s top division.

Two of the eleven are West Ham United’s Scottish boss David Moyes and Sheffield United’s English manager Chris Wilder, whose abilities have seen them win 781 and lose just 569 of the 1,803 matches they have taken charge of over the past two decades.

Between them, Moyes and Wilder have won four LMA Manager of the Year and 14 Manager of the Month awards, four league titles and six promotions.

Skipper Noble and full-back Cresswell missed last weekend’s FA Cup win at Gillingham as they were carrying knocks.
Sheffield United managed to walk away from the road leg against West Ham United with a draw. They will face off against one another at 3 p.m. ET on Friday at Bramall Lane. Sheffield has a defense that allows only one goal per game, so West Ham’s offense will have their work cut out for them.

The Blades opened the new year with a less-than-successful 2-0 loss to Liverpool last week.

Meanwhile, West Ham kept a clean sheet against Bournemouth last Wednesday. The Irons put the hurt on Bournemouth with a sharp 4-0 win. With West Ham ahead 3 to nothing at the half, the match was all but over already.

West Ham United’s victory lifted them to 6-10-4 (22 points) while Sheffield United’s defeat dropped them down to 7-6-8 (29 points). We’ll see if West Ham can repeat their recent success or if Sheffield bounces back and reverse their fortune.

Ryan Fredericks is out after injuring a hamstring against the Gills while Michail Antonio (hamstring), Jack Wilshere (groin) and Andriy Yarmolenko (thigh) are still sidelined.
