DAVID BENAVIDEZ VS. ALEXIS ANGULO FIGHT DATE, START TIME
Date: Saturday, Aug. 15
Time: 9 p.m. ET
The Benavidez vs. Angulo card will begin at 9 p.m. ET

WBC Super Middleweight World Champion David Benavidez missed weight at the official weigh-in for Saturday’s SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING tripleheader, losing his world title belt on the scale. Benavidez will now face world title challenger Alexis Angulo.

Young, undefeated David Benavidez (22-0, 19 KOs), 23, kicks off his second reign as WBC super middleweight champion against Alexis Angulo (26-1, 22 KOs). Plus, the power-punching Rolando “Rolly” Romero (11-0, 10 KOs) takes on Jackson Marinez (19-0, 7 KOs) for the WBA lightweight interim title, and an intriguing heavyweight matchup between Swedish southpaw Otto Wallin (20-1, 13 KOs) and veteran Travis Kauffman (32-3, 23 KOs). Live from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT.

Benavidez vs. Angulo
David Benavidez, TKO, R6
Benavidez just got stripped of his Title. Missed weight by 3lbs. Fight still goes ahead but only Angulo can become Champion. Benavidez has always been Big at the weight and still growing as he is still in his early twenties. Time for Light Heavyweight bud! Waiting for him there is WBC 175 Champ Artur Beterbiev!!!!! Good luck with that Champ!

Marinez vs. Romero
Jackson Marinez, DEC
Another nothing WBA Belt on the line here!!! What is it here? An interim? Regular? Gold?? Interim Gold???? Who knows????

Wallin vs. Kauffman
Otto Wallin, TKO, R3
Big Otto living of that loss to Fury!!! Just got signed exclusive to Showtime off the back of that loss, I mean he cut Fury but he still got beaten convincingly!!! So, yeah, how good is he really??? Better than Kauffman??? Probably, maybe???

Negron vs. Rice
Carlos Negron, TKO, R1
Doubt this fight is happening. For some reason it appeared on the BoxRec schedule but apparently the promoter messes about with the BoxRec listing for PBC events, kept it hidden from the schedule until a few days ago even though fight was confirmed month ago??? Strange?? Anyway this fight is likely not happening, just like the Rivera vs Villasana fight that appeared then disappeared in a day!!!??

Ahmed vs. Fox
Habib Ahmed, TKO, R5
After just seeing Foxs bro, Mykal take a whooping last weekend I worry about the lesser of the Fox brothers here
